چکیده

This document serves as a supplement to the material discussed in lecture 11. The document is not meant to be a comprehensive review of compressive sensing or compressive imaging. It is supposed to be an intuitive introduction to the basic mathematical concepts of compressive image reconstruction for the single pixel camera. More information can be found in the paper by Wakin et al. [2006], which is representative for an entire class of research papers published throughout the last decade.

EE 367 / CS 448I Computational Imaging and Display Notes: Noise, Denoising, and Image Reconstruction with Noise (lecture 10)

Signal-dependent shot noise follows a Poisson distribution and is caused by statistical quantum fluctuations in the light reaching the sensor and also in the photoelectron conversion. For example, a linear camera sensor measures irradiance – the amount of incident power of per unit area. Spectral irradiance tells us how much power was incident per unit area and per wavelength. Given some amount...

Block-Based Compressive Sensing Using Soft Thresholding of Adaptive Transform Coefficients

Compressive sampling (CS) is a new technique for simultaneous sampling and compression of signals in which the sampling rate can be very small under certain conditions. Due to the limited number of samples, image reconstruction based on CS samples is a challenging task. Most of the existing CS image reconstruction methods have a high computational complexity as they are applied on the entire im...

Efficient Lossy Compression for Compressive Sensing Acquisition of Images in Compressive Sensing Imaging Systems

Compressive Sensing Imaging (CSI) is a new framework for image acquisition, which enables the simultaneous acquisition and compression of a scene. Since the characteristics of Compressive Sensing (CS) acquisition are very different from traditional image acquisition, the general image compression solution may not work well. In this paper, we propose an efficient lossy compression solution for C...
